Workplace Training

This session covers the fundamentals of defensive city cycling including overview of road rules, route planning, accident hot spots, anticipating dangers, what to do in emergency situations and more. It is designed to promote safe, responsible cycling and reduce the risk of accidents for those who regularly ride in traffic.

A great employee health and wellbeing initiative and an ideal way to support new riders to take part in corporate cycling events such as National Ride to Work Day.

It includes a powerpoint presentation, a short cycling safety video and question time.  A selection of free TravelSmart maps, bookmarks and brochures are also available for participants.

This interactive session teaches the essentials of caring for and maintaining your bike for a safe, smooth and enjoyable ride, day after day. Learn how to conduct a thorough safety check, lube your chain, remove a wheel, repair a punctured tube and more. You’ll learn some great tips that will save you lots of money.

This practical program is designed for people who can ride a bike but lack skills or confidence riding in traffic. It is also a great way to encourage novice and ‘lapsed’ riders to get back on their bike. The course promotes safe, responsible bike riding and covers bike set-up, safety checks, bike handling and traffic riding skills.

The group session will be tailored to your needs and requirements (e.g. duration, group size etc). Two hours will ensure comprehensive traffic-free training and additional time allows for an on-road ride in the local area, with 2 accredited AustCycle instructors.

Electric bike training sessions are tailored according to clients’ needs (according to number of e-bikes available, time restraints and number of participants).

The training can comprise of practical traffic-free (2hrs) and on-road training (2hrs) or traffic-free plus a theoretical session (Defensive Cycling presentation with a focus on e-bikes). For more information on practical training see 2 hr and 4-5 hour training here.

Client will need to secure suitable training space and provide Bikes at Work with make/model of e-bikes so suitable preparations can be undertaken.
