Date: Sun 28 May (9.30am-12pm). Kindly hosted by Kingsville Primary School and funded by Maribyrnong City Council, this 2.5 hour practical cycle skills training session is designed specifically for parents who live, work or study in Maribyrnong.
Everything that is taught (from fitting helmets, safety checks, bike control skills and path/road riding) is also relevant to participants’ child/ren, and incorporates the journey to school by bike. Parents will develop their own cycling skills and confidence so that not only can they pass this on to their child/ren but will also help with preparation of riding with trailers, cargo bikes, tag-alongs, child seats – and with children riding independently.
The initial part of the course is traffic free, with a focus on building up bike control skills. The latter part of the course is a short on-road ride on local roads.
Maximum of 7 places. Cost per person $5.
